Matt Everitt is a presenter, journalist, music consultant and producer on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2. His career in music started as the drummer in the Britpop band Menswear which, according to Matt "paid the bills until a chronic lack of ability caught up with them”.
After the band split Matt decided a life in radio was for him.
In 2002 he kickstarted his career by joining London alternative station Xfm. Ultimately this led him to the BBC. It is here that he has carved a niche as a popular and regular presenter at BBC 6 Music, where he appears on air alongside Shaun Keaveny, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Zoë Ball, Claudia Winkleman, Ken Bruce and Jo Whiley.
He also produces and presents the acclaimed 6 Music interview series ‘The First Time’. Matt has also featured extensively on Channel 4, 5 Live, Radio 4, Channel 5, MTV, Sky News and BBC News 24 and worked as music consultant for clients including Spotify, Apple, PRS For Music, Deezer, Red Bull and now One More Music.
All this experience and knowledge of the industry and most importantly music has been invaluable to One More Music as he joins their research and licensing division. His track suggestions are both concise and considered. He limits his research so that Clients are not bombarded with tracks, but instead receive a precisely tailored list of possibilities. When time and budgets are limited his style enables Clients to work more quickly and efficiently.
